Roma are facing a losing battle to keep hold of their Argentinian striker Erik Lamela according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The forward has been in fine form this season and has been attracting the attention of a number of top European sides.

The likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid have all been linked with the player’s signature in recent months.

PSG now look set to join the race and are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by tabling a concrete bid for the player.

The Qatari backed Ligue 1 side are reportedly ready to offer Roma a fee in excess of £20 million for Lamela.

The Serie A side are reluctant to part ways with the striker as he has become one of their most important players since joining the club from Argentine side River Plate in 2011.

But Roma are unlikely to be able to hang on to Lamela for much longer with the club facing up to the very real prospect of missing out on European football next season.

Roma currently sit in seventh place in the Italian top flight and know they will have to leapfrog the likes of Inter Milan or Lazio if they stand any chance of retaining Lamela’s services.
