Arsenal are leading the chase to bring Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas to the Premier League according to The Metro.

The Spanish goalkeeper has fallen out of favour at the Bernanbeu this season. Casillas fell out with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho after he became the first manager in over a decade to drop Casillas.

The club signed goalkeeper Diego Lopez in January and Casillas has struggled to regain his place in the team ever since.

Casillas is reportedly disillusioned with life under Mourinho and is ready to leave the club he has been with since he started his career.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Casillas informed club officials he would be handing in a transfer request should Mourinho remain in charge at the beginning of next season.

It is thought that if Mourinho leaves the Bernabeu at the end of the season, Casillas may well still have a future at the club.

Arsenal are looking for a more dependable goalkeeper after a number of high profile errors from their young Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

They are also likely to face competition from Liverpool who may look to move on their Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina come the end of the season.
