PSG are believed to have made an £80m bid for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo in a move that is sure to alert the Portuguese international’s former club Man United according to The Sun.
PSG’s Qatari owners have bankrolled the side’s march towards their first Ligue 1 title in almost two decades and now they are looking to raise the bar that little bit higher by making a world record equaling offer for the 28 year old Bernabeu man.
Ronaldo has refused to put pen to paper on a new deal and has two years to run on his current contract and Real Madrid may have to consider big money offers knowing that his value will steadily decrease, indeed the lethal finisher has intimated that he would be happy to run down his deal and leave for nothing, something the La Liga giants can not afford to allow.
Over the past few years PSG have brought in a host of big name signings with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Lucas Moura, Javier Pastore, Ezequiel Lavezzi and David Beckham increasing the public and promotional profile of the Parc des Princes side. A move to sign Ronaldo would take the club to another stratosphere.
Ronaldo has scored an incredible 197 goals in 194 appearances for Real Madrid but in four years at the club he has seen the Spanish side collect one La Liga title and a Copa del Rey triumph and therefore be open to a new challenge.
