Arsenal have not yet completed the signing of Gonzalo Higuain and there is still the possibility that the Argentine could join Italian champions Juventus, Sky Sports reports.

The players father, who is also acting as his agent, has said that talks are still on going between the player and Arsenal and Juventus are still in the hunt for the Argentine.

Higuain told the media that he planned to leave Real Madrid this summer after the clubs final game of the La Liga season.

Since then Arsenal have moved into pole position to sign the striker, who scored 16 goals in 28 La Liga appearances last season.

It looks as though Juventus were out of the running to sign Higuain after they had an £18 million bid rejected by Real Madrid, however the players father has said that his son could still move to Turin.

“Nothing has been signed yet but I can assure you there are advanced talks between the clubs,” said Higuain senior in the Mail on Sunday.

“We wouldn’t arrange any personal contract before the clubs agree for the transfer. I’m aware Arsenal has made a strong  offer, as well as Juventus.”

This will worry Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who sees Higuain as one of his top transfer targets this summer.

The Gunners have a record transfer budget to spend this summer and Wenger wants to spend a sizeable amount of it acquiring Higuain.
