Spanish Starlet To Reject Premier League Move And Fight For Place

Arsenal target wants Real Madrid stay.Arsenal target Jese Rodriguez has hit out at former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho for not giving him more of an opportunity in the first team during his time at the club.

However, according to talkSPORT, the youngster will stay at the Bernabeu and fight for a place, instead of seeking a move elsewhere in a bid to establish himself as a top talent.

This will come as a blow to Arsenal, who are also believed to be tracking Rodriguez’s Real Madrid team-mate Gonzalo Higuain, and who have a good track record of giving opportunities to young players and developing them into big names.

A number of other Premier League clubs have been known to be chasing the 20-year-old, who broke the goal-scoring record for Real Madrid’s ‘Castilla’ youth team last season.

The Spanish giants don’t have a great record of promoting their youngsters, with Raul and Iker Casillas being the only notable examples in recent history, while the likes of Juan Mata, who started his career at the club, have gone on to enjoy great success elsewhere.

Rodriguez believes, however, that he can break into the first-team setup under a new manager, and is committed to becoming a key player at the club he supports.

“Those who understand football will know that we deserved more opportunities under Mou,” he said.

“That was clear to see. But if the first team coach doesn’t see it that way or has other ideas, we have to respect it.

“The future looks bright to me. I think for everything I have done so far, I hope I have showed that I don’t need to go to another league and that I am capable of playing at my club, at Madrid.”
