In demand striker hopes to meet with club officials.
Napoli striker Edinson Cavani is hoping to hold talks with Aurelio De Laurentiis to discuss whether or not he is actually going to leave the club this summer, Sky Sports reports.
The 26-year-old has found himself the subject of heavy speculation with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid all linked with making a move to land his signature.
A £54 million buy out clause has held up any prospective deal and the Italians have refused to budge, prompting the big striker to seek out talks with his chairman in the hope of resolving his future.
Cavani scored as Uruguay were knocked out of the Confederations Cup on Thursday by hosts Brazil, and he will now head back to Naples as soon as possible to meet with the eccentric owner.
“I love Naples. It’s my town and my heart is there. But when I was here in Brazil I’ve heard untrue rumours and things about me,” Cavani told the media in South America.
“For this reason, now I want to talk as soon as possible with president De Laurentiis.
“We must clear ourselves. I’ll talk with him, as it’s done between men, really soon.”
