Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Tottenham have accepted an offer for Scott Parker, according to Sky Sports.

The former Spurs boss is a fan of the 32-year-old midfielder, having first brought him to White Hart Lane from West Ham during his time at the club.

However, the England international has fallen out of favour at the club under new manager Andre Villas-Boas, and will seemingly be allowed to leave this summer if he accepts a drop down to the Championship with QPR.

Redknapp’s side were disappointing in their relegation last season, but the 66-year-old feels confident that he can build a good side to win back promotion this season, and that he would like Parker to be a part of it.

“It’s down to Scott now. The chairman has agreed a deal with Tottenham. It’s up to Scotty now,” the Rangers boss revealed.

“Hopefully Scotty will feel the same and come here. We feel this is a club progressing and we’d love him to be part of it here.”

Parker’s future at White Hart Lane looks increasingly uncertain after the club just yesterday announced the signing of another defensive midfielder, with Etienne Capoue arriving from Toulouse for £8million.

Spurs have cleared out another squad player following Capoue’s arrival, with Tom Huddlestone signing for Hull City for £5.25million yesterday.
