Barcelona midfielder Alex Song insists he is not thinking about a possible return to his former club Arsenal and that he is fully committed to the Catalan giants, according to ESPN.

The Cameroon international made the move from the Emirates Stadium to the Nou Camp last summer, but has not managed to establish himself as a regular in the side since his signing from the Gunners.

Due to being a backup player at the club, rumours have circulated that Song could make his way back to the Premier League, with Manchester United also credited with an interest as well as his old side Arsenal.

However, despite the fierce competition for places at Barcelona, with the likes of Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets ahead of him in the pecking order, Song maintains that he is happy at the club and not considering a move away.

Still, Song admits he does not know if the club will choose to keep him and spoke of his “fantastic” time in his seven years with Arsenal.

“I don’t know what will happen tomorrow. I spent seven fantastic seasons there, but honestly, I’m not asking myself that question for the moment,” he said. “We’ll take whatever comes. For the moment, I’m fully committed to Barca.”

Song was in particularly impressive form in his final season with Arsenal, though his move to Barcelona was still met largely by surprise at the time.
