Pellegrini to raid old club in pursuit of Joe Hart replacement.

Check in to West Ham United vs Manchester City

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is ready to enter the market for a new goalkeeper to replace the struggling Joe Hart this January, with the Metro reporting that Malaga’s Willy Caballero is his top target.

The Chilean tactician only just moved from Malaga to Manchester City during the summer, and had been linked with a move for talented young attacker Isco during the summer, though the Spaniard eventually chose a move to Real Madrid instead.

However, Pellegrini will now be looking to raid his old club for a second time, as he eyes up Caballero as the ideal replacement for Hart in goal, after a series of individual errors by the England ‘keeper this season.

Hart’s poor form started to show last year, and it was thought that previous manager Roberto Mancini would have tried to sign Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic as a replacement during the summer, though the Italian was sacked in May after his side lost the FA Cup final.

Pellegrini seemed to show faith in Hart for the start of the season, though his confidence in the 26-year-old is now being tested, as his poor performances continue to cost his side goals.
