The Milanese giants have their eye firmly set on Chelsea’s Jon Obi Mikel, but reports in Italy have suggested that the club’s new owner Erick Thohir is looking to strengthen in all positions and will make the Spaniard a target at the end of the season.

Inter are also hoping to take advantage of his playing situation as he has only featured twice since mid-January, and are hoping the former Benfica man will take the chance to move on and help them return to the Serie A title picture following a period of change at the club.

Inter are, however, more confident of acquiring Garcia than Mikel, who, despite still being considered an important member of the first-team squad by Pellegrini, could be allowed to leave for the right price.

Garcia’s future at City has also been put under threat by the club’s apparent interest in Porto midfielder Fernando, who is rumoured to be on his way to the Etihad at the end of the season.
