Following the Bluebirds unsuccessful fight against the drop it’s likely that the Welsh club’s top talents will be lured away this summer and Tottenham’s move to re-sign 22 year old England international Caulker will be aided by the fact that he has a relegation release clause written into his contract.

The White Hart Lane side could certainly do with some defensive reinforcements as the north London side have been incredibly leaky at the back this term.

Indeed of the sides in the top half of the table only Newcastle United have conceded more than Spurs.

Tottenham are also looking to bring in highly rated Scottish keeper David Marshall, who has made more saves than any other top tier custodian.

A move for Marshall may lead some to speculate that first choice Spurs man Hugo Lloris may be on his way out, which is all the more likely given the French international would be keen to secure the Champions League berth his current side can’t seem to attain.
