Liverpool are seriously trying to capture Sevilla’s young Spaniard Alberto Moreno to fix their problem left-back position.

With Jose Enrique missing nearly the entire season with an injury, and youngster Jon Flanagan naturally more comfortable at right-back, manager Brendan Rodgers has made it a priority to solve the the situation this summer.

The Reds made a £16m bid plus Suso on loan for Moreno, and here’s ten things Premier League fans need to know about the talented defender.

1) Albert Moreno has played for Sevilla his entire career, graduating through the youth ranks, before playing foer the B-side, and finally making his debut in 2012.

2) His form this season earned him an international call-up, and he won the first of his two Spain caps against Georgia at the end of 2013 – playing the full 90 minutes and earning special praise from manager Vicente del Bosque as a result.

3) As a result of his performances, it was rumoured back in March that he’d join Real Madrid, and he’s even been linked with Chelsea as the long-term Ashley Cole replacement as well.
