Watch the highlights from the USA’s dramatic victory over Ghana from Natal.
A late header from Hertha Berlin defender John Brooks was enough to claim a dramatic victory for Jurgen Klinsmann’s USA side in their opening Group G clash against Ghana.
Brooks rose highest to nod home a corner just four minutes after Marseille’s flying winger Andre Ayew had latched onto a neat backheel and coolly slotted home past Tim Howard to undo a tight defensive displays from the Americans.
Klinsmann’s side had taken the lead inside thirty seconds when former Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur man Clint Dempsey nutmegged John Boye before slotting the ball past the Ghanaian ‘keeper.
The three points are huge for the USA and give Klinsmann and his side a genuine chance of qualification from a difficult group after Portugal’s earlier mauling at the hands of Germany.
