Midfielder to be available on a free transfer this summer.
Tottenham’s new boss Mauricio Pochettino is plotting a move for Inter Milan’s 33-year old midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, who would be available on a free transfer, reports the Daily Mirror.
Pochettino seems to be a big fan of his compatriot, and wants to bring the veteran to White Hart Lane in a bid to reshape Spurs’ disjointed squad. The 42-year old manager though also wants to free up space for Cambiasso by shipping out his overcrowded squad, and we could well see a couple of known faces axed from the Tottenham team this summer.
While Cambiasso’s experience could do Spurs a world of good, the former Real Madrid man is only a short term option for the Lilywhites, if they do manage to sign him up.
There are a number of enforcers currently in Tottenham’s squad though in the form of Paulinho, Etienne Capoue, Sandro and Nabil Bentaleb, and it would be interesting to see who among the lot would be shipped out of White Hart Lane to make space for the Argentine veteran.
