The White Hart Lane side will apparently welcome in the United States international within the next 48 hours despite interest from AS Roma and Liverpool.

The 21 year old could be loaned back to his MLS side until December though there is a chance that Mauricio Pochettino may elect to bring him in immediately with Kyle Walker set to miss the opening weeks of the season due to injury.

Yedlin was part of Jurgen Klinsmann’s 2014 World Cup finals squad and is a player who clearly impressed White Hart Lane boss Pochettino.

Tottenham sold Clint Dempsey to the Seattle Sounders and the connection between the two clubs may well have aided in the club’s pursuit of Yedlin.

Pochettino has already moved to strengthen his defence this summer by bringing in Swansea City pair Ben Davies and Michel Vorm as well as Sporting Lisbon youngster Eric Die.
