Spurs make fourth major summer signing.
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Argentina defender Federico Fazio.
The 27-year-old, who has been capped twice at senior international level, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at White Hart Lane.
Fazio was club captain at Sevilla last season, starting 27 La Liga games and leading his side to glory in the Europa League.
He could make his Tottenham debut against Liverpool on Sunday.
Fazio becomes Tottenham’s fourth major signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Michel Vorm, Ben Davies and Eric Dier.
Fazio was part of the Argentina side that won the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in 2007.
He also helped his country win Olympic gold in Beijing in 2008.
Fazio began his career with Ferro Carril Oeste in his homeland, before joining Sevilla in 2007.
While at Sevilla, he made 194 first-team appearances.
