Liverpool FC news
Mario Balotelli often doesn’t do himself any favours, but today’s events during a Liverpool training match prove that the man is often subject of completely fabricated gossip and speculation.
The 24-year-old was playing for a Liverpool XI against Wolves in a friendly during the international break, along with new signing Adam Lallana, and was snapped here in dialogue with the referee.
Due to the Wolves player in question touching his head, and the fact Balotelli was subbed off soon after, Twitter decided that the maverick Italian had assaulted the Wolves player, when in fact, all that had taken place was a 50/50 tackle.
Below, you’ll see the picture in question, some of the reaction on Twitter, and what ACTUALLY happened at the bottom.
Why always him?

Balotelli subbed after kicking a Wolves player in the head during a friendly? I’ll be truly ‘gutted’ if it’s true. pic.twitter.com/VpWkSrijyr — FG (@FunnyGooner) September 5, 2014

Wonder how someone can kick a fellow player in the head during a game, and only gets subbed off. Beats me. #balotelli

Balotelli was involved in a strong 50-50 challenge with Wolves’ George Saville. He was then subbed after being spoken to by ref Chris Foy.
