Rodgers has seen his Anfield side score ten goals in their opening seven Premier League fixtures though tellingly Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have managed just one goal between them in domestic league action and as such Origi could offer the Merseyside outfit another option in the final third.

The 19 year old was signed from Lille in a £10m deal in July but then loaned straight back to the Ligue 1 side for the 2014/15 campaign though if both clubs agree the temporary deal can be canceled.

Origi has been in good form this term, scoring four goals in 11 matches for Lille as well as bagging a goal in Belgium’s 6-0 win over Andorra last week.
