The midfield star is ready to leave the German giants after once again struggling to make a breakthrough into the first team on a regular basis.

Recent reports suggested that Liverpool are interested in the 23-year-old, while it has been suggested that Bayern would be receptive to a swap deal involving Ander Herrera at Manchester United.

However, it came to light that Serie A giants Napoli were ready to provide some serious competition for his signature.

But Shaqiri’s agent, Ulisse Savini, said that despite the idea being his, a move to Napoli may not be ideal for the player’s aspirations.

“If Xherdan moved away from Bayern, it would be just in order to get more time on the pitch.

“I suggested him to Napoli, but that’s a difficult transaction since Bayern will hardly let him leave on loan for free, and it wouldn’t make sense putting him in competition with other similar players.”
