Suarez proved just how badly he’s missed at Anfield with this well taken finish against APOEL, dummying a defender and slotting under the keeper.

Just days after breaking the La Liga goal scoring record, Messi surpassed Champions League’s record, edging ahead of Raul’s record of 71 with this effort. There was a slice of fortune about the goal as it took a huge deflection, but the Catalans won’t mind one bit.

It then got even better for Messi and Barcelona. He did the business here by lifting the ball just slightly over the keeper’s outstretched foot – fantastic awareness.

And predictable he completed his hat-trick in the final moments with arguably the best of the lot – Pedro got down to the goal-line before pulling back for Messi, who wrong-footed the defender with his well taken finish.
