Anfield side target impressive young Uruguayan.
Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign young Uruguayan striker Jaime Báez according to TuttoMercato.
The 19 year old Juventud forward has been dubbed the ‘New Luis Suarez’ and as such it’s no surprise he has been linked with a move to Anfield and given Brendan Rodgers penchant for bringing in top young talents there is perhaps a good chance the Liverpool manager would look to land the teenager.
Liverpool have struggled for goals this term with new signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing to make an impact since their respective arrivals whilst Daniel Sturridge has missed much of the campaign through injury.
However the addition of an unproven youngster may not be the answer to their problems, not least as Rodgers is yet to blood Divock Origi, who is on loan at Lille for the current campaign, and as such Liverpool may be covered in terms of youthful striking prospects.
