White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy will hand the Argentine £20m and Pochettino will then look to boost those funds with somes accrued from the sales of four players he is keen to cash-in on next month.

Off-form Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor will be made available though his salary expectations may stand in the way of a January sale.

Winger Aaron Lennon is another set for an exit despite making a recent return to the Spurs starting eleven whilst midfield powerhouse Moussa Dembele is another who is deemed surplus to requirements having started just three Premier League fixtures this season.

Pochettino is also ready to listen to offers for Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen who is bound to garner a fair amount of interest and could be the most likely of this quartet to warrant a formal bid when the January transfer window opens.
