Goal.com claim that the Chilean boss is ready to punish any complacency at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea have lost just one Premier League fixture and have rightly received a great deal of plaudits for their form though Man City are still well and truly within touching distance, the reigning title holders being just three points off their rivals.

Pellegrini insists his side are paying little attention to Chelsea, stating;

“We are not thinking about Chelsea. We have our own pressure to win. As I’ve said before, you never win the title in December, he said.

“At the moment we are playing at a high level. We need to do this regardless of whether players are injured or not.”

Man City have won eight games on the trot in all competitions, with Joe Hart having gone 431 minutes without conceding a goal.

Pellegrini’s side face a fairly easy run of games over the Christmas period, travelling to West Brom before hosting Burnley and Sunderland.
