The 32-year-old, who only joined the Reds from Southampton this season, is wanted by Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion after struggling for regular playing time at Anfield.

It is thought that Liverpool could be ready to allow Lambert to leave this month, as soon as they tie up a deal to bring Belgian front-man Origi to the club.

Liverpool signed the 19-year-old in the summer but agreed to loan him back to Lille for this season, though it is reported that they have now paid an extra £3m to bring him to Merseyside early, with the French side now searching for a replacement upfront.

Lambert’s disappointing performances have led Brendan Rodgers to seek reinforcements in attack, but he may still get himself a Premier League move this January.
