Arsenal pair fire title warning to Chelsea & Manchester City – surely it’s too late?

Arsenal stars Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey seem quietly confident of springing a surprise in this season’s Premier League title race, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Gunners are just seven points behind Chelsea with eight games to go, though Jose Mourinho’s side have a game in hand and have been top of the table for most of the season.

Still, there have been some signs recently that the Blues may not be unstoppable, with some disappointing results, particularly at home, and a generally look of fatigue in their squad.

City, too, have dropped a large number of points and don’t look a convincing bet for the top four at present, and this appears to have given Arsenal players a reason to believe.

“We want to finish really strongly, and if we can win our games, then we will see if City or Chelsea miss one of their steps. You never know, you have to believe in football,” Giroud said.

“We’ll try to win every game we have left and see where that takes us,” Ramsey added.

“Strange things happen in the Premier League, the kind of upset where City went to Burnley and lost. We’ve got to be switched on and make sure that kind of result doesn’t happen to us – but at the same time believe the teams around us will be on the end of upsets.”

Are Arsenal dreaming? With Chelsea surely too good to let it slip, they should win their game in hand and make it a ten-point gap, meaning even an Arsenal win over the Blues when they visit the Emirates Stadium probably won’t be enough to make a difference in the title race.
