This source claims Theo Walcott could be offered to Brendan Rodgers as part of a cash plus player deal, with an offer of £20m plus the Arsenal star being tabled.

The Daily Express claims Walcott could be used in a swap deal with Raheem Sterling, which would include Arsenal parting with £20m.

Walcott has struggled with form and fitness in recent seasons and even when clear of injuries the Arsenal man is no longer a guaranteed first choice in Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven following the captures last summer of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez.

Rodgers is also keen on landing loaned out full-back Carl Jenkinson as a potential replacement for exit bound Liverpool star Glen Johnson.

Liverpool are rumoured to be keen on the £7m rated defender, who is currently on loan at West Ham, and if the 22 year old does indeed leave the Emirates Stadium then a move to the Merseyside outfit may appeal to the England international.

Jenkinson has impressed at Upton Park this term and will be aware that a return to Arsenal may see him behind a raft of others in Wenger’s pecking order.
