La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have struck an interesting sponsorship deal on behalf of the LFP, with their club socks for next season containing a strap logo of gaming giants Pro Evolution Soccer.

The deal was originally done between technology providers Sockatyes and La Liga in October 2014, with the Spanish champions one of the first clubs to try the new technology for next season.

It seems as though this is a new initiative is an attempt from the governing body in Spain to try and level out the finances in the division in order for clubs to challenge the gigantic duo Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The TV rights deal in England has maginified the disparity in the finances between the two leagues which has led to the predictable dominance of La Liga; briefly interrupted by Atletico Madrid last year.

PES is the first company to accept the collaboration and will have their logo printed on the calves of Atletico Madrid’s players next season with images released of what the final product would look like.
