It seems unlikely that Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani will be heading to Manchester United after all, following his poor form this season.

The Uruguay international was again out of sorts in the Champions League on Tuesday evening where he delivered an anonymous performance as PSG crashed out at the hands of Barcelona—losing 5-1 on aggregate.

His season as a whole has been little better, and the former Napoli man has managed only nine goals in 29 Ligue 1 appearances.

He has fared better in the Champions League, bagging six in ten, but it is apparently not enough to hold the interest of Manchester United.

The Daily Mail certainly believe that the chances of Cavani being brought to Old Trafford this summer are decreasing, with Louis van Gaal keen to avoid the same mistake that he made with four-goal Falcao.

Despite his poor form this term, 28-year-old Cavani has enjoyed success at the Parc des Princes; he won the Ligue 1 title last season and has also picked up two French league cups. He will be keen to add a second league championship medal to his collection over the coming weeks.
