Song returned to the Camp Nou after completing a season-long loan with West Ham United but was told by manager Luis Enrique that he has no future at the club next year.

The 27-year-old has one-year remaining on his deal with the newly crowned champions of Europe and Mirror Sport claim a bid of £8million will be enough to land his signature.

The Saints have emerged as favourites to sign Song and are in a position to offer the midfield enforcer Europa League football next season after being rewarded for their seventh placed finish in the Barclays Premier League.

Schneiderlin’s future at St Mary’s remains uncertain and reports in Mail Sport have suggested Manchester United are the leading the race to sign the 25-year-old after the Gunners have refused to pay the £25million asking price.
