The 25 year old England hopeful netted a hugely impressive 18 Premier League goals last season, this despite QPR failing to avoid the drop, and has been linked with a move away from Loftus Road.

Crystal Palace, West Ham and Southampton are all interested in Austin though the player’s reported £15m price-tag could price the trio out of the pursuit.

Mourinho fears that Remy will leave Stamford Bridge in order to secure regular first team action, the former Newcastle United man having started just six Premier League fixtures in 2014/15.

Austin will be more than aware that a move to Chelsea will more than likely lead to a fair amount of time warming the bench, which could be detrimental to his overall career progression, and as such a move to any of the other sides linked with the QPR man could prove a wiser option to consider.
