Corinthians boss says Alexandre Pato will be a Chelsea player in ‘two or three days’

Reports this week have surfaced (via ESPN Brazil) claiming that Alexandre Pato is on the verge of completing a move to Premier League giant Chelsea, and now it seems that his head coach at Corinthians, Tite, believes that he will be on his way in the next “two or three days”.

Both Liverpool and Tottenham had also been linked with a move for the former AC Milan forward, but reports in Brazilian publication Globo Esporte have claimed that Tite has made comments alluding to the player’s immediate future.

“Maybe in two or three days, you journalists will have an answer about Pato. A response from me won’t be needed,” he said.

The ESPN report claims that Pato stands to earn a healthy $2.5 million annually at Stamford Bridge, which is close to what he currently earns at Corinthians.

He presently earns $3.3 million a season in Brazil, but turned down a lucrative move to Chinese giants Tianjin Quanjian, proving he is looking for a higher standard of football and won’t be moving just for the money.
