Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has plenty to think about as his side went into the half-time interval level at 1-1 with Malaga on Saturday afternoon.
The visitors had taken the lead in the first minute through Munir El Haddadi, but after coming under significant pressure from their rivals, Anor Juanpi finally found a breakthrough just after the half-hour mark.
Malaga fully deserved to be back on level terms as they continued to press high up the pitch and were rewarded when they won back possession in Barca’s half.
Juanpi picked up the ball in space on the edge of the box and steered his effort past Claudio Bravo and into the back of the net to bring the home faithful to their feet.
Barcelona appeared to react almost immediately as they went back on the front foot, but it was Bravo who was back in action just minutes before half-time to ensure that the home side didn’t complete a turnaround.
Nevertheless, Lionel Messi will feel as though he should have had the telling touch to end the first half but saw his effort blocked with a last-gasp effort from Miguel Torres.
The visitors will move back to the top of the La Liga table temporarily with a win, although Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid side will move back above them if they defeat Sevilla at the Calderon on Sunday.
