Manchester United forward Memphis Depay has struggled to convince at Old Trafford since moving to the club last summer.
However, the Netherlands international’s technical quality remains undiminished, as he demonstrated in a candid showboat video shared by the club on their official Instagram page.
In the clip—which shows Memphis showboating with United wonderkid Josh Harrop—the former PSV Eindhoven star is seen demonstrating some of his remarkable footwork, his agility on the ball and his excellent quality of invention.
While few can doubt Depay’s excellent technique, the attacker has struggled to repay the faith shown in him by Dutch coach Louis van Gaal, who spent £25 million [according to the Daily Mail] to bring the forward to the club.
The 21-year-old has featured 19 times in the Premier League so far this season, but has managed only two goals so far this term, and failed to contribute an assist.
Indeed, despite arriving for a considerable fee, Depay has often found himself out of the team, with van Gaal opting to use youngster Jesse Lingard in his place.
Harrop has steadily begun to make a name for himself in United’s youth and reserve teams, following some excellent showings in the 2012 FA Youth Cup and the Milk Cup.
