Man United hopeful to land Bundesliga megastar despite internal chaos

Assuming Louis van Gaal does not lead Man United to a major turnaround in the final two months of the season, the Red Devils will likely be looking for a new manager to shake things up in the 2016-17 campaign. That could, in turn, have an impact on their ability to sign Borussia Dortmund scoring machine Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but it has not stopped the club from reaching out to the Gabon striker about a possible switch.

According to the Mirror, Man United have engaged in ‘secret talks’ regarding Aubameyang and are determined to make him their top transfer target for the summer transfer window – regardless of who is managing the club by then.

Although Dortmund have publicly stated that Aubameyang is not for sale, the source reported that Man United would be willing to offer upwards of £60 million for the 26-year-old striker. Such a move at that price would break the Premier League transfer record that the team paid for Angel Di Maria in 2014.
