Memphis Depay is understood to have held showdown talks with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, according to The Sun.

The tabloid report that the Netherlands international is livid with his counterpart after being snubbed for recent fixtures against Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

The 22-year-old is understood to have sought out talks with the Dutch manager, in order to discuss his future at Old Trafford.

The attacker signed for the Red Devils from PSV Eindhoven in the summer, moving to the Premier League in a deal worth a reported £31 million [BBC Sport].

However, the versatile attacker has struggled to impress, and emerged as one of the major flops of the EPL campaign.

He’s managed just two goals and zero assists all league season, and has regularly been upstaged by youngsters such as Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and even Marcus Rashford.
