Reports in Italy claim that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba flew over to England on the sly on Saturday in order to undergo a medical with Manchester United on Sunday.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba has arrived in Manchester to complete the formalities on a world-record €110m transfer to Old Trafford.
That price coverts to £93.31m, making Pogba £8.01m more expensive than current world transfer record-holder Gareth Bale, who moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid for £85.3m in 2013 (fee reported by BBC Sport).
Pogba has been linked with a move to United all summer, but the saga has been drawn out.
Gazzetta add that Pogba will be officially confirmed as a United player within a matter of days.
That could mean that the 23-year-old has a chance of making his Red Devils debut next weekend when Jose Mourinho’s men begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to Bournemouth on Sunday.
