It hasn’t been a great season for Manchester United star Phil Jones thus far, with injuries preventing him from proving himself under Jose Mourinho.
However, if he did have hopes of forcing his way into the line-up when he eventually recovers, he may well have just dashed them himself.
United suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, with Jose Mourinho’s return to his former club not ending the way he would have hoped.
The Sport Bible posted the image of a disheartened Mourinho below on their Instagram account shortly after the game, and some eagle-eyed supporters spotted that a certain United player had liked it.
The man in question is of course Jones, and while there has been no explanation as of yet, certain fans have been quick to point it out and criticism him.
It’s fair to say that Mourinho will probably be less than impressed with it when he eventually hears about it, and it probably won’t do much to endear Jones to his boss with a view of fighting his way back into the team later this season.
