Man United transfer news: LA Galaxy plot move for Wayne Rooney

MLS giants LA Galaxy are plotting a move for Manchester United star Wayne Rooney and have begun asking advisors how much he would cost according to the Sun.

Per the source, Galaxy are keen on replacing Steven Gerrard with Rooney which would make the United veteran eligible to become one of two designated players who can break the wage cap.

Gerrard is currently paid £4 million per-year which is a quarter of what Rooney currently makes at the Red Devils.

Rooney has another three-years remaining on his contract so Galaxy would have to make an attractive offer to try and prize him away from United.

The England international has however, struggled for playing time recently and Jose Mourinho reportedly made it clear in another report by the Sun that he needs to move on if he wants regular playing time.

Rooney has also attracted interested from China and Serie A giants Inter Milan have also been linked.
