While most football commentators have declared that Bernd Schuster’s pragmatic and professional side will dominate Spain and retain their title, there is one name who is bold enough to proclaim that all is not over yet.
And no wonder that it is the FC Barcelona custodian Victor Valdes speaking on the occasion against Real Madrid. Goal.com quotes the Spanish international goalkeeper telling the Madrid-based Sports Daily Marca that although Barca have much lost ground to recover, regaining the title is not an impossibility.
Valdes says:
There is a big distance in points, but also many games to dispute. We will both have difficult games, but it is necessary to be realistic and just take all the points we can. I know that they are difficult rivals but it is still possible to win the league.
Possibility yes, probability no. Real Madrid might not be laying galactico football but they have got a large squad with cover in every position and with very few weaknesses.
