Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has revealed his intense gladness to have successfully recovered from a recent injury. Lampard played the last 20 minutes at the weekend for the London club against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge and appeared to be in good shape.
The England international has been recuperating from a thigh injury and the Liverpool match marked his first game for the Chelsea since late December. Lampard says:
I feel very good. Mentally I am just happy to be back, training with the lads and playing. I feel fresh and ready to go. It has been very frustrating. When you’ve been out injured, you can’t even mix with the lads that much and you’re spending long days at the training ground. I haven’t ever had that really and now I realise what other players have had and it’s a frustrating time.
Chelsea have kept themselves in sight of the Premiership leaders Arsenal and Lampard’s return to the first team would certainly boost manager Avram Grant.
