The Telegraph reports that Peter Crouch has commenced contract talks with his club Liverpool. The 26-year old beanpole striker still has 16 months left on his current contract and his negotiations come at a point when there has been a blanket of speculation regarding him staying at Anfield.
The England international hasn’t been regular for Rafael Benitez this season but has still racked up 8 goals already. Crouch is not a world-class footballer by any means, but his height gives Benitez the option to play the long ball or whip crosses into the opposition’s box to score.
The Liverpool faithful must hope that they get the signature of Crouch.
