Either Real Madrid have decided to opt for the reverse psychology route in their pursuit of Ronaldo, hoping that declarations that they won’t be buying him will make Ronaldo want to move even more, or they have genuinely given up their chase for the Portuguese winger.
REAL MADRID president Ramon Calderon finally appears to have conceded defeat in his battle to land Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
He declared: “Ronaldo is an impossible signing. His club don’t want to sell him.
“We can do nothing if the club that owns him don’t want to sell. We never approach a player under contract. This is not Real Madrid policy and especially not with a club with whom we are such good friends.” (The Sun)
Now that the Madridistas seem to have cooled their interest, Barca’s wannabe president Sandro Rosell is trumpeting the fact that if he is elected, he will sign Ronaldo. Will United’s prize asset start fidgeting for a move to the Nou Camp instead?
