With Portugal star Deco (Art to his mates) set to sign for Chelsea at the end of the European Championships, the Barca midfielder has decided that he wants the gummy-toothed smile of his Brazilian club teammate at Stamford Bridge next season too, but would either of them be a success at Chelsea?…
Both Deco and Ronaldinho have had woeful seasons. Deco’s culminated in gutlessly getting himself suspended for the Real-Barca game so he didn’t have to take part in the pasillo – the guard of honor for the champions. Deco’s absence perfectly summed up his season – non-existent.
Ronaldinho, meanwhile, continued his football-gym-party carousel for the umpteenth year running, this year though his body couldn’t keep up – and his slack-footed performances meant that he was reduced to bit-part performances.
“It would be good for Chelsea to sign Ronaldinho.
“He would go to a great club and I would love to see him playing in the Champions League for a great team, and showing he is still the best player in the world.” (The Sun)
With the Barca suits feeling that both players are disruptive liabilities, Chelsea will actually be doing their Catalan rivals a big favour; and with no guarantees that either player will be a success in the Premier League, is this a risk Chelsea need to take?
