Blackburn continue to reject bids from Newcastle, Villa and Panathinaikos: Can Paul Ince keep his squad intact?

It might surprise you to hear that out of the three players for which Blackburn have recently received a bid, none of them have been for striker Roque Santa Cruz. Which has got to be a good thing as far as Rovers fans are concerned, although they do have a battle on their hands if they’re to keep hold of all current squad members.

The Daily Mirror reports that the Lancashire club have not only seen off two offers for David Bentley, but they’ve also rejected bids for two of their defenders. Paul Ince seems to be experiencing a baptism of fire as far as fending off potential suitors is concerned, although he and chairman John Williams have done a decent job up to now it would seem.

Mirror.co.uk reported this morning that the club had rebuffed Newcastle’s £2m offer for defender Stephen Warnock – who only joined Rovers 18 months ago himself.

And now Blackburn chairman John Williams has revealed approaches for Dutch international Andre Ooijer and England winger David Bentley have also been turned down.

“We have received a bid from Panathinaikos [for Ooijer] but I have made it clear Andre is not for sale,” he said.

It’s almost as if Blackburn have a ‘Players for Sale’ sign outside Ewood Park, such is the level of interest in their players. Whatever next, Fulham putting a cheeky offer in for Christopher Samba? Middlesbrough taking a shine to Morten Gamst Pedersen? Are there any players that Rovers fans wouldn’t mind leaving, or do you want to keep the lot for next season?
