These ten represent the worst investments made in players this season.
Dave Kitson Reading to Stoke City £5.5m
I have to say that when I first saw the price that City had paid for the flame haired striker I did a double take and my first thought was “that’s a waste of money!” It’s not that I don’t rate the former Reading man (now back at the Royals on loan) it’s more that I found the price to be ridiculously over inflated and so it has proved. The 29 year old hasn’t managed a single goal for the struggling Premier League side. Expect a return to the Madejski in the summer.
Jo CSKA Moscow to Man City £18m
For sheer financial reasoning alone this Brazilian makes this list. He arrived for £18m scored a couple of goals in Cyprus and then another in the rout of Pompey in August and then….well nothing. He has failed to net in the dozen games since and then found himself out of the pecking order. Thankfully the Brazilian was thrown a lifeline in the form of a so far very successful loan spell at Goodison Park. Will Mark Hughes recoup anywhere near the fee his side paid CSKA if they sell him to David Moyes’s side, simple answer, no! (timeaddedon.com)

So this collection cost a total of £90m+ but are there others who could have made it on to this rogue’s gallery?
