While the media has been convinced that Portsmouth have sold Glen Johnson to Liverpool in a £17 million deal for days now, there has yet to be any official confirmation of that fact. Unless you count the Liverpool official online store’s slip up last night when they listed “Johnson, TBC” on the shirt personalization drop-down menu for a few hours.
Was this a case of a store manager’s ignorant exuberance or is Rafa Benitez using the club store as some kind of voodoo prognostication device?
Of course, Chelsea made a similar mistake during last summer’s Robinho madness, so this kind of premature cash grab/jinx is not unheard of.
Now the key will be whether Johnson takes exception to having his name below Philipp Degen’s on the menu and nixes this deal before it’s too late. (Dirty Tackle)

So, will Liverpool actually sign Glen Johnson before someone buys a shirt with his name emblazoned on their backs, who knows? Those shirts could be worth millions in a century from now if the move doesn’t go ahead! Well not millions, but a few quid anyway!
