Check in to Brest vs Lille

Highly rated Lille left-back, Lucas Digne, is ignoring speculation linking him with a move to England, Sky Sports reports.

The young Frenchman has made 21 appearances for Lille so far this season and he is in no rush to jump ship to England just yet.

Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for the 19-year-old in January as a replacement for Patrice Evra, but since then they have been joined by the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City who are also keeping tabs on the player with the hope of luring him to the UK.

But Digne recently spoke of his happiness at the Northern France club; “Suitors? I don’t pay any attention to that. Really,” he said, “I joined a group of players who were champions of France when I was just 18 and I realise that I have experienced something really quickly, because I didn’t expect to play so often.”

‘I live day-to-day because I feel very happy at Lille – this is the club of my heart, the club that developed me.

“Leaving Lille? It is the club where I have been educated, and I am very fine here.”

Digne first broke into the team in 2011 and has since gone on to make 39 appearances over two seasons. A mainstay of the French under-19 side, he is expected to make the step up to the under-21’s very soon.
