Italian striker believes Jovetic should join a ‘top club’.
Luca Toni may incur the wrath of Arsenal fans today after it was reported by Sky Sports that he has advised his Fiorentina team-mate Stevan Jovetic against a move to the Emirates.
Jovetic has been in scintillating form this season, netting an impressive twelve goals in 24 Serie A matches this season.
The Montenegrin striker’s performances have not gone unnoticed a number of top Premier League sides have been linked with the player’s signature in recent weeks.
Arsenal were thought to be leading the chase for Jovetic and were said to be willing to match Fiorentina’s £28 million valuation of the player.
But a move could wel be scuppered after it was revealed in recent days that Manchester City are considering competing with the Gunners to bring the striker to the Premier League.
Jovetic had admitted he would be tempted by a move to Arsenal but Toni has insisted the Gunners are no bigger than his current club.
The Italian forward believes that if Jovetic is going to move to the Premier League, he should only consider offers from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City or Chelsea.
Fiorentina have been impressive this season and are currently battling for a Champions League spot in Serie A. They currently sit fourth, three points behind 3rd-placed AC Milan.
