Former Gunners goalkeeper believes Arsenal will secure Champions League qualification.

Arsenal legend David Seaman has expressed his belief that Arsenal will beat Tottenham to a place in the top four according to talkSport.

The two clubs are currently locked in a battle to secure a place in next season’s Champions League along with Chelsea.

Tottenham currently have the advantage of lying in fourth, two points clear of the Gunners, but Arsenal can overtake their North London rivals should they win their game in hand.

Should Arsenal fail to qualify for the Champions League, it will be their first time out of the competition since boss Arsene Wenger arrived at the club.

But Seaman backed Arsenal to finish the season strongly and overtake their bitter rivals.

The former England goalkeeper, who was capped 75 times for his country, pointed out that Arsenal are currently enjoying a purple patch of form while Tottenham have been struggling in the Premier League of late.

Seaman did however concede that the Gunners had fallen behind the best teams in the league in recent seasons.

By the end of this season, the club will have failed to have lifted a trophy in over eight years.

Seaman blames finances for the gap between Arsenal and the top teams insisting players would prefer to double their pay packet than challenge for honours with the Gunners.
