Dragovic set to snub Arsenal for Everton.
FC Basel defender Aleksandar Dragovic is set to turn down a move to Arsenal in favour of a summer switch to Premier League rivals Everton, according to talkSPORT.
The 22-year-old came to the attention of English sides as he starred in the club’s two legged Europa League victory over Tottenham earlier this month and has apparently set a race between several clubs that want to sign him.
And it is Everton who are in pole position to land the young Austrian stopper as he looks set to reject moves to Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund.
The Toffees are keen to add more defensive options to their back line as influential skipper Phil Neville has announced that he will leave Goodison Park this summer and question marks remain over the future of Dutch international Johnny Heitinger after a disappointing campaign.
Dragovic joined Basel back in 2011 from Austria Wien and has gone on to make over 75 appearances during his time in Switzerland. He has been capped 14 times by the Austrian national side and already has a long list of achievements to his name since crossing the the border.
He is valued at £4 million and David Moyes is strongly considering a quick move to ensure they land him ahead of Arsenal and Dortmund.
